Terms of Service
The rules for using htMarquee and this website.
Last updated: April 2026
Agreement
By downloading, installing, or purchasing a license for htMarquee ("the service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
License
htMarquee is licensed, not sold. A Matinee (free) license grants you the right to use the software for personal, non-commercial purposes subject to the feature limits listed on the pricing page. A Premiere license unlocks additional features for the duration of the term you purchase (1 month or 1 year) and is tied to a single household installation. Reverse engineering, redistributing a modified build, or reselling licenses is not permitted.
Purchases and billing
- Premiere licenses are sold as one-time purchases for a 1-month or 1-year term via Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record.
- Licenses do not auto-renew. When your term ends, Premiere features revert to Matinee limits; you can purchase a new license any time to regain access.
- Your data stays on your device whether or not your license is active.
- Refund requests are governed by our Refund Policy.
Third-party services
htMarquee relies on external APIs including The Movie Database (TMDB) and OMDb. Use of those services is subject to their own terms. Features like Plex, Jellyfin, Home Assistant, and WLED integration require you to run those services yourself; we don't control them and can't guarantee their availability.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use htMarquee to infringe copyright, distribute unlawful content, or harass others. We may suspend licenses used in violation of these terms or of applicable law.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every hardware configuration. You are responsible for backing up your own data.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, htMarquee's total liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
